Close location of Danube ports to NATO member is not a guarantee of security – Southern Ukrainian Defense Forces
Although there is some cooperation between colleagues and Romanian and Moldovan counterparts, the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine have some cooperation. This was stated by Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.
“Our Romanian colleagues express their concerns to us, there is communication and general interaction. Our Moldovan colleagues have repeatedly recorded the facts of missiles flying across the border… Therefore, proximity to the border is not always a guarantee of security. And the Bessarabian region has now experienced this – such proximity does not protect against aggressor attacks,” – the officer said.
The wreckage of russian missiles fell three times in Moldova on October 31, December 5, 2022, and January 14, 2023. On February 10, 2023, two Russian Kalibr missiles crossed the border between Ukraine and Moldova and flew over Romanian airspace.
