As the Verkhovna Rada debates the ratification of the Rome Statute, the views of military personnel have become a focal point in a long-standing discussion. Given the critical nature of this decision and the potential risks involved, understanding the military’s stance is crucial. To address this, the Ukrainian Legal Advisory Group commissioned a survey, conducted by the Sociological Group “Rating”, whose findings will be unveiled at an upcoming press conference. The survey sheds light on how active-duty soldiers perceive the pursuit of justice during wartime. The presentation will cover key topics such as military opinions on the ratification of the Rome Statute and accountability for war crimes, the demand for justice concerning wartime offenses, and evaluations of the national justice system. Additionally, the conference will explore the military’s assessment of current and prospective mechanisms for ensuring justice and accountability. |
