Announcement “Digital deregulation in environmental protection”

On December 28, at 2:00 PM, a joint briefing will be held by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, the State Regulatory Service of Ukraine and USAID Program “Competitive Economy of Ukraine” at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

Every year, the Ministry of Environment and Oblast Administrations receives 75,000 requests for environmental protection services.

Obtaining one permit involves:
● more than 4,300 hours of waiting
● UAH 6,000 of indirect expenses for entrepreneurs (for business trips, paper, printing, consulting)

The Ministry of Environment is one of the first ministries in Ukraine that started implementing new digital services and abolishing burdensome licensing and approval procedures.

During the briefing, Minister Ruslan Strilets will tell:

  • What results were achieved as a result of digital deregulation;
  • How much money and time the business saved as a result of such innovations;
  • And also announce digital environmental projects that the Ministry plans to implement in 2023.

Oleksiy Kucher, Head of the State Regulatory Service of Ukraine will present the results of a comprehensive analysis of state regulatory instruments in the field of environment, which was conducted by the Regulatory Service together with experts from USAID Program “Competitive Economy of Ukraine”.

Tetyana Grischenko, Deputy Chief of USAID Program “Competitive Economy of Ukraine,” and Hanna Bashnyak, USAID Program expert, will also present the information on the methodology and criteria for analyzing state regulatory instruments in the field of the environment.
