All MANPADS in Southern Ukraine will be equipped with thermal imagers in two months – volunteer

And they will be able to work 24/7. This was stated by Hennadiy Suldin, founder of the Technari design group, at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

He noted that SA-18 Grouse is now the main means of defeating targets in the south of Ukraine.

“We, as designers and volunteers, have been taking care of small air defense – anti-aircraft guns and man-portable air defense systems – since the first days of the war. For the south of Ukraine, effective small air defense is a matter of survival. We are currently carrying out a comprehensive modernization of all MANPADS in the South, so in two months thermal imagers will be installed in the area of responsibility of the South operational command,” – Suldin said.

He added that the Technari group is working on this project together with the Serhiy Prytula Foundation and the Monster Corporation charity foundation.

“From now on, the man-portable air defense systems will work 24/7. The cost of such modernization is less than 1700 euros. That is, the cost of such modernization of all MANPADS in Ukraine is about 2 million euros,” – the volunteer said.
