About 500 Ukrainian military and civilian medics may have been captured by russia in recent years – Military Medics of Ukraine NGO

About 500 military and civilian doctors may be held illegally captive by the russian federation.

Andrii Kryvtsov, Founder of the Military Medics of Ukraine NGO, voiced this information during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“According to our information — that is specifically our organization — our records show that currently there are 46 military medics, who were captured by the russian federation (based on the appeals of their families). However, we understand that there are more such individuals, and we can only speak about those for whom we have information, based on the appeals of their relatives. But according to the information from the sources in government organizations, there may be about 500 such people. These are military and civilian doctors who were captured by the russian Federation in recent years,” he said.

At the same time, Andrii Kryvtsov added that 78 military medics were released from russian captivity over the past two years through exchanges.
