A new cyclone will hit Ukraine on Wednesday night, and rain and snow will be across the regions

On Wednesday night, a new cyclone is expected to move from the southwest, bringing precipitation across Ukraine. The cyclone will cover a larger area, with more accumulating rain and snow in different phases.

Natalia Ptukha, Head of the Media Communication Department of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center of the State Emergency Service made this report, at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“For example, the snow will mostly fall through western regions, with the temperature reaching the freezing mark of 0-6 degrees below zero day and night. But in the northern regions—Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, Poltava, and Kharkiv the wet snow will arrive. In the rest of the country, in the south and southeast, it will rain. That’s a wintry mix. A brunt of winter will also hit Kyiv, we also expect a mixed phase of precipitation with rainfall turning into snow,” said Natalia Ptukha.

According to her, the cyclone is about to be very active, and starting from Tuesday evening it will move to the western regions, the most active period will occur on Wednesday night, and on Wednesday afternoon the cyclone will taper off the territory of Ukraine.

In addition, wind gusts of 15-22 m/s are expected, but in the western regions, frequent wind gusts may be greater.
