80 million tons of grain and oil crops expected to be harvested this year
As of now, 77 million tons of grain and oil crops have been harvested in Ukraine. However, by the end of the harvest season, the figure may increase to 80 million tons, since the harvest has ended only in five regions of Ukraine.
Dmytro Solomchuk, Member of Verkhovna Rada and Member of Verkhovna Rada’s Agrarian and Land Policy Committee, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“The harvest has ended in only five regions of Ukraine, there is still corn in many Ukrainian regions, in some — even sunflowers. In total, 77 million tons have already been collected, of which 56 million tons are grain, 21 million tons are oilseeds. But the harvest will continue, we are waiting for the weather conditions to improve, so that there is no snow, and fields dry up, so that the temperature falls to -5-6 degrees, and the harvesters can continue to gather crops. And I think that we will pass the mark of more than 80 million tons at the end of this season,” the MP noted.
