50% of Food Chains in Ukraine Today Are Equipped with Generators and Can Operate Independently — Retail Association of Ukraine

Ukrainian retail is rapidly adapting to challenges posed by massive russian shelling. Andrii Zhuk, Co-Founder and Chairman of the Retail Association of Ukraine, made this statement during the briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“As of today, 50% of food retail chains are provided with generators: a half of food retail chains can operate independently. By the end of January, it will be 55%. It is very difficult to predict this percentage until the end of winter, but I predict that by the end of February, about 60–70% will be provided with generators. Many thanks to the business that it quickly invested money and is now adapting to the situation. Now most stores can help the population: people can keep warm, charge their phones. The stores and shopping centers perform a great social function. They have been performing it before, and now these are our “points of invincibility,” Andrii Zhuk said.
