40% of residential buildings in Mariupol are completely destroyed and cannot be restored – city mayor

Mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boichenko said during a briefing at Ukraine Media Center that more than 90% of the buildings had been damaged by russian bombings, and 40% of residential buildings had been completely destroyed. According to him, almost half of the residential buildings in Mariupol cannot be restored, meaning that about 84,000 people are left homeless.

«This is revenge for the city staying unconquered in 2014-2015, when the so-called «russian world» was proposed. This did not happen, the city did not surrender. The city has been developing for all 8 years, we have developed transport infrastructure, hospitals. A lot of work has been put into this, and at this time no change has taken place in Donetsk. They destroyed the city so that no one would see it»,  — Vadym Boichenko said.
