31 settlements flooded in the Mykolaiv region as a result of the Kakhovka HPP disaster, and two people report died

Two people, an older man, and a woman, died in the Mykolaiv region after the Kakhovka dam terrorist attack. Mykolaiv Oblast is currently hosting refugees from the Kherson region who suffered from the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant collapse.

Vitalii Kim, Head of Mykolaiv Oblast Military Administration, made the relevant report at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform. 

“There are 31 settlements – about 540 households are flooded. 20 in Bashtanka district and 11 in Mykolaiv district, but the situation is less serious in Mykolaiv district,” he explained.

According to Vitalii Kim, the Mykolaiv region has welcomed 1132 refugees from Kherson so far. Mykolaiv region residents who suffered from the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station explosion evacuated within the community, he noted. 

“We have taken 1132 people from Kherson, and they are receiving assistance from the Danish Refugee Council. 982 people were evacuated within the Mykolaiv Oblast community. Water, food, and other necessities provision is ensured.”
