229 Km Border with Belarus in the Rivne Region Is Inviolable: We Strengthen Our Defense Capability, the NPP Defense Is Priority — Head of Oblast Military Administration

No accumulation of enemy strike groups has been recorded so far on the other side of the border between Belarus and the Rivne region. Vitaliy Koval, Head of Rivne Oblast Military Administration, made this statement during the briefing in Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“Our task is to ensure the defense capability of the country on the border with Belarus in the Rivne region. The 229 km border is currently inviolable. No accumulation of enemy manpower or strike groups of equipment has been recorded on the other side of the border. But this does not mean that the situation cannot change in the near future, during the coming weeks or months. In coordination with the task group of forces “Volyn”, we are strengthening the defense capacity. First of all, it refers to fortification and engineering structures, mining fields, and preparation of the entire landscape for meeting the enemy,” Head of Oblast Military Administration said.

Separately, Vitaliy Koval spoke about the defense of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant. 

“We gained the Enerhodar and Chornobyl NPP experience. All the lessons have been learned, so today the defense of the nuclear power plant is a number one priority. It is the largest employer in the west of Ukraine: 7,700 people have jobs. Varash is a satellite city, a city of power engineers, and it is of critical importance for us to have stability and peace there. The defense is ready, and we clearly understand how all the defense forces should communicate,” Head of Oblast Military Administration said.
