Zelenskyy came to Britain to give a signal “we have freedom, give us wings to protect it” — Prystaiko

The UK, one of Ukraine’s first partners, had been waiting for a long time for President Zelenskyy’s visit. Vadym Prystaiko, Ukraine’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom, made this statement during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“It’s not merely a diplomatic curtsey towards a country that helps us a lot, but also an opportunity to talk to leaders without a phone and security issues. Prime Minister Sunak had several conversations with President Zelensky. It was an excellent opportunity to address the parliament. At least 1000 people were present in the central hall of the Palace of Westminster. People were listening to every word of the president. They read the main signal, stating that we have freedom, give us wings to help protect it. Of course, there was a meeting with the king. The highlight of the visit was a trip to a military base, a meeting with our tankers who are training right now, and a review of military equipment to transfer to Ukraine in the near future,” said Mr. Ambassador.
