Zaporizhia Military Oblast Administration explains reasons for evacuating citizens from five settlements in the region
54 children and 67 adults accompanying them are being evacuated from five settlements of Vasylivka and Polohy districts in Zaporizhia region, where the intensity of shelling has increased.
Yurii Malashko, Head of Zaporizhia Oblast Military Administration, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“These are Vasylivka and Polohy districts, these are five settlements. There was an appeal from the heads of the military administrations of these districts to us regarding these settlements. Because the information campaign, which we conducted together with the police, state and local authorities, did not give us a positive result. The intensity of shelling of these settlements has increased by several times. Therefore, the decision was made to evacuate 54 children and adults accompanying them, that is 67 people,” he explained.
According to the Head of Zaporizhia Oblast Military Administration, the people will be evacuated both to the city of Zaporizhia and Zaporizhia district.
“We have also involved the volunteers who help us with this. There are places to put (evacuees – Ed.). There are also proposals to move people even abroad,” he added.
At the same time, Yurii Malashko reported that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, about 224,000 internally displaced persons have been registered in Zaporizhia district, and some 270,000 people left the region for other parts of Ukraine.
