Vsevolod Chentsov predicts a pro-European and pro-Ukrainian majority in the European Parliament
According to Vsevolod Chentsov, Representative of the Mission of Ukraine to the European Union, the upcoming majority in the European Parliament will be both pro-European and pro-Ukrainian. Chentsov emphasized that cooperation among the parties entering the European Parliament will be constructive, highlighting this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“In analyzing the forthcoming elections and their potential impact on Ukraine’s support, especially our EU membership aspirations, the clear consensus is that a pro-European and pro-Ukrainian majority is likely to emerge in the European Parliament. This majority is expected to coalesce around parties such as the European People’s Party, the Social Democrats, and the Liberals. However, there’s intrigue and a lingering question is how these parties, particularly the European People’s Party, will engage with the right-wing factions, distinct from the far-right, notably the ECR. Nevertheless, constructive collaboration among these political forces is still anticipated,” clarified Vsevolod Chentsov.
