Verkhovna Rada not to go on winter break – Fedir Venislavskyi
No vacations and breaks in the work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine are expected until the end of the martial law regime ends.
Fedir Venislavskyi, People’s Deputy of Ukraine, Member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, Representative of the President of Ukraine to Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“During the first days of the war, starting on February 24, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decided to work in a single plenary session mode. In other words, there are no holidays or vacations for people’s deputies of Ukraine. There are provisions of the Constitution that require closing and opening the session. No vacations, breaks or holidays are expected in the work of the Verkhovna Rada until the martial law regime ends,” he emphasized.
At the same time, Fedir Venislavskyi pointed out that the MPs will make every effort to adopt the necessary amendments to the law by the end of the year. Particularly those concerning security and defense, European integration and the fight against corruption.
“By the end of the year, during the plenary sessions convened by the decision of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, I think we will make every effort to ensure that in the we vote on the amendments to the law related to the improvement of legislation in the security and defense sector, the improvement of the capacity of our of armed forces, the issues related to European integration, and the issues related to the fight against corruption, in the quickest and most consolidated way possible,” the MP added.
