Vasyl Bodnar: We are looking for ways to create a single humanitarian corridor to bring Ukrainian prisoners back through Türkiye’s mediation

Vasyl Bodnar, Ukraine’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Türkiye made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“The dialogue between the ombudsmen on the creation of a single humanitarian corridor is ongoing. It would allow, through Türkiye’s mediation, to release our prisoners of war, as well as those civilians who were imprisoned by the kremlin regime in the occupied territories or were deported to russia. They must be returned to the Motherland, including through Türkiye.”

Currently, the search for points of contact in this issue of the release of Ukrainian prisoners continues, Vasyl Bodnar said. One of the sensitive elements is the issue of bringing Ukrainian children back.

“This is also one of the sensitive topics that has its own possible prospects. And now we are also working on this, holding discussions and looking for ways to implement this initiative.”
