Unique expert analysis and future war scenarios: Ukrainian Armed Forces present scientific study on resisting russian aggression
The Central Research Institute of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has launched a joint project with the GLOBSEC Policy Institute to create a high-level expert environment.
Oleksiy Nozdrachov, a colonel and deputy head of the Central Research Institute of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this at the Media Center Ukraine.
“Since 2014, an expert community focusing on the application of armed forces and state defense has been forming in Ukraine. There was a need to expand this community by engaging partner nations from NATO,” he said.
The first outcome of this collaboration with GLOBSEC is the publication of the popular science edition, “Ukraine’s Strategic Resilience. An Expert Review, Popularization, and Dissemination of Ukrainian Experience in Countering russian Aggression”.
Colonel Nozdrachov emphasized that the Institute sought answers to two key questions during the research: how top-level experts assess the performance of Ukraine’s Armed Forces and society in defending the state, and whether Ukraine adequately informs its Western partners to support their further analytical work.
The inaugural edition features expert analyses of potential future scenarios that are relevant to policymakers and researchers alike. The study examines key aspects of Ukraine’s resistance, including the strategic defense of Kyiv and the north, mobilization, societal resilience, adaptability, innovation, and communication strategy.
“Considering russia’s immense military capabilities, we countered with the adaptability of our society and armed forces, as well as dominant, initiative-driven innovations from the civilian sector. This allowed us to quickly strengthen the Armed Forces’ capabilities, enabling them to defend the capital and execute unique operations to liberate territories,” stressed Colonel Nozdrachov.
He emphasized that the work also analyzes the communication aspect of the Ukrainian resistance movement.
“The first part of the publication reflects all expert opinions and provides the public with an opportunity to independently analyze the developments,” the colonel added.
