UNHCR to help repair accommodation for displaced persons in Odesa

Now there is a trend of Odesa residents’ returning home and resuming their work. At the same time, about 93,000 displaced persons remain in the region.

Serhii Bratchuk, Spokesperson for the Odesa Oblast Military Administration made this statement at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“All refugees who register, and this is the right thing to do, are provided with everything they need, as well as a job. Of course, some of them go abroad,” — Bratchuk said.

According to him, the Odesa Oblast Military Administration and the sub-office of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees agreed to repair the premises where it is possible to compactly accommodate internally displaced persons, install additional tents near checkpoints to assist refugees and repair residential buildings and social infrastructure objects.

“In the near future, we will work out a road map as well as the actions on how this initiative will work,” — he added.
