UkRebuild: Future Cities, a project to restore Ukrainian cities, was presented in Odesa
There are already preliminary agreements on cooperation with the authorities of Odesa, Cherkasy, and Sumy regions. Artem Kasparyan, co-author of the UkRebuild: Future Cities regional development project and co-founder of the “Spilna meta” (Common Goal) volunteer movement, told about this at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.
“We will implement our project to restore Ukrainian cities with the support of the public organization SOS Ukraine and the Vilnus Planus Institute – an institute for the development of regional communities in Lithuania. They know our problems very well. We already have preliminary agreements on cooperation with the authorities of Odesa, Cherkasy, and Sumy,” – Kasparyan said.
As noted by Dovidas Vitkauskas, director of the NGO SOS Ukraine, the goal of the project is to connect investors, experts in various fields and representatives of the authorities with one goal – the recovery of Ukraine.
Oleh Syabrenko, team leader of the UkRebuild: Future Cities regional development project, added that according to the calculations of some experts, more than 1 trillion euros are needed to restore Ukraine.
“After the victory, certain sectors of the economy will grow very, very quickly. Ukraine will join the best innovations of leading countries. And we want to join our project with the best urban planning specialists who will develop investment projects. To not just rebuild what was destroyed, but to open a new page of the country’s development. Odesa oblast has one of the best recovery potentials. I believe that the region can triple the gross domestic product in 10 years,” – Oleh Syabrenko added.
