Ukrainian university applicants will be admitted under the simplified procedure in 2022 – S. Shkarlet

Serhiy Shkarlet, the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, informed during a briefing at Ukraine Media Center that the Verkhovna Rada had adopted a bill presented by the Ministry of Education and Science on a one-time change in the procedure for admission to universities in 2022. This year, Ukrainian prospective students will be admitted to higher education institutions under the simplified rules. In particular:

To enroll in educational institutions that provide for the admission after completing 9 or 11 grades of high school:

  • for art (creative) specialties – go through a creative contest;
  • for other specialties with tuition paid by the government – submit an application, a motivation letter, and go through an interview; and
  • for other specialties with privately-paid tuition – submit an application and a motivation letter.

To enroll in educational institutions that provide for the admission after completing 11 grades of high school:

  • for art (creative) specialties – go through a creative contest, submit an application and a motivation letter;
  • for other specialties with tuition paid by the government – submit an application, a motivation letter, and pass a national multi-subject test (similar to the EIE (ZNO), but in three subjects); and
  • for other specialties with privately-paid tuition – to submit an application and a motivation letter.
