Ukrainian Training Program for Women Leaders in Transportation to Be Presented at the World Transport Forum
Over the course of 2.5 months, the first training course for women leaders in the transportation sector was held in Ukraine at the initiative of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine. Yulia Bilous, the course manager, spoke about this at the Ukraine Media Center.
“Next week, during the International Transport Forum in Leipzig, Ukraine will present the ‘Lead Change’ training course for women leaders in the transport sector. We plan for this training program to become a permanent initiative, to be held in an offline format, and to be expanded to the regions,” she said.
During the training, 25 women holding leadership positions in the transport sector—in business, local government, the public utilities sector, education, and the civil society sector—completed 17 hours of lectures by leading experts, over 16 hours of group mentoring sessions, and individual consultations with mentors to overcome personal barriers and tap into inner resources. Most importantly, during this time, the participants—divided into five teams—developed five projects for the transportation sector:
- A new transportation education ecosystem—an initiative designed to train a new generation of specialists by engaging teenagers.
- A transport hub for change, designed to train and retrain citizens for the transport sector with the involvement of senior experts and various forms of tuition payment.
- The “TransTransUA” project – a national digital
- “Accessible Route – Transportation for Rural Residents,” a project that will provide passenger transportation services to remote communities.
- MONOS – a digital logistics ecosystem.
