Ukrainian citizens cross Ukrainian border 75,000 more times in last five days – State Border Guard Service
In the past five days, there has been a notable rise in passenger traffic at the borders, especially among individuals seeking entry into Ukraine.
Andrii Demchenko, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“Last week, including Friday, the daily passenger traffic averaged between 80,000 and 85,000 individuals in both directions on weekdays, with no significant disparity between those leaving and entering Ukraine. However, a sharp increase in passenger traffic has been observed since Saturday. On Saturday, approximately 110,000 citizens crossed the border, followed by 105,000 on Sunday. Subsequently, the figures decreased to around 90,000 per day on Monday and Tuesday, with a slight increase to over 95,000 individuals yesterday. Throughout these five days, there has been a notably higher number of people, especially Ukrainian citizens, entering Ukraine, as they constitute 80-85% of the total passenger traffic crossing the border. Notably, over these five days, Ukrainian citizens crossed the border to enter Ukraine 75,000 times more frequently (than to leave – Ed.),” noted Andrii Demchenko.
