Ukrainian border guards to let those who want to return home from russia back in – State Border Guard Service

Despite the fact that the checkpoints on the border with the aggressor country and belarus are closed by the decree of the government, Ukraine as a whole and the border guards in particular are doing everything possible to allow Ukrainian citizens to return home. Therefore, if the Ukrainian citizens can reach the Ukrainian border in certain areas, they will be allowed to enter the territory of the country.

Andrii Demchenko, Spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“The Ukrainians will be allowed to enter the territory of Ukraine not only in Sumy region, but also in other areas where they can reach the Ukrainian territory, the Ukrainian border. Of course, there is also a security component, and we see that more people are now passing through Sumy region, through one of the checkpoints, and arriving on Ukrainian territory. On average, there could be about 100 people per day arriving back on the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities. These are people who were forced to either leave or pass through the temporarily occupied territories to reach safety,” explained Andrii Demchenko.
