Ukrainian Armed Forces can push out invaders during summer counteroffensive – former Bulgarian Defense Minister 

Then Ukraine will receive an official invitation to join NATO. This opinion was expressed by Velizar Shalamanov, former Minister of Defense of Bulgaria, at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

“I am confident that Ukraine will become a NATO member. In fact, we already consider your country a member of the alliance, and we will support your army and country. And the official invitation will be issued as soon as you expel russian troops from your sovereign territory. Now we just need to help with this. 

I hope that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to drive out the aggressor as part of the summer counteroffensive,” – Shalamanov said. 

In his opinion, an official invitation will be issued at the 2024 summit in Washington, when NATO will celebrate its 75th anniversary.

“Ukraine is supported by Eastern Europe and other main NATO members. And there will be more support, not additional conditions. And I assure you that russia will not play any role in this matter,” – Shalamanov added.
