Ukrainian Air Force Command expects NASAMS systems in near future — Yuriy Ihnat

Yuriy Ihnat, Spokesperson of the Air Force Command of Ukrainian Armed Forces Ukraine made this statement at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“We already have Lloyd Austin’s statement that in the near future Ukraine will receive a NASAMS air defense system. At the same time, specialists are being trained (to use it). When and how they will be put into service will not be publicly announced, but as soon as there are combat results, we will speak about them,” — he said.

NASAMS mobile anti-aircraft missile systems, developed by Norwegian company Kongsberg Defense & Aerospace together with U.S. based Raytheon Technologies, are capable of shooting down unmanned aerial vehicles, ballistic missiles and rockets with an advanced AIM-120 medium-range air-to-air missile
