Ukraine to involve international partners in programs to increase consumer energy independence

Currently, the newly created programs for consumer energy independence are funded from the “5-7-9” program. However, there are plans to attract the resources of international partners for the operation of such programs.

Nadiya Bihun, Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“Negotiations are underway with international institutions. Initially, when this program was planned, there were indeed negotiations with the partners so they could pay for the compensation of the interest rate. But Ukraine and the Ukrainian government have learned to react much faster to the ongoing situation, so the decision was made that for now this program would be funded with “5-7-9” money. This year, UAH 18 billion are planned for the “5-7-9” program to compensate for the interest rates. That is, now it is simply expanded, and this program is also compensated from “5-7-9.” But we really hope that the partners will still join in and we will be able to use the resources of the partners for this in the future,” she said.
