“Ukraine Supplies Electrical Energy to European Countries, Plans to Increase Exports Even despite ZNPP’s Shutdown,” Volodymyr Kudrytskyi

Ukraine exports electrical energy and helps neighboring countries meet their demand for electricity.

Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, CEO of Ukrenergo National Energy Company, stated this during his briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“Currently, Ukraine is growing into its role of a guarantor of the European energy security. Even now, with Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant not generating any electricity, we keep exporting substantial amounts of electrical energy. We supply 600 MW to Poland, Romania, and Slovakia,” he said.

Currently, the work is ongoing to expand electrical energy exports from Ukraine to countries of Europe.

However, Ukrenergo is analyzing different fall and winter period scenarios with varying combinations of power plants. We have already simulated the operations both with and without the ZNPP. Under all scenarios, getting through the heating season is a complicated but feasible task.

“On a separate note, Ukraine has a united energy system with European partners. We can count on their support should we need it,” he said.
