Ukraine sees eightfold surge in mine action operators

Ukraine now has 84 certified mine action operators, marking a sharp rise compared to early 2023, when only about 10 were actively working in the sector.

Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Ihor Bezkaravaynyi highlighted this surge during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“As of today, we have 84 mine action operators—companies certified to carry out this work. This is an exceptionally large number of business entities in the sector. At the start of active mine action efforts in 2023, there were only about 10 such certified operators, and now there are 84,” he stated.

Bezkaravaynyi also noted that among the 84 operators currently engaged in mine action in Ukraine, seven rank among the world’s largest.
