Ukraine Seeks Assistance from Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining

Hanna Maliar, Deputy Minister of Defense, disclosed this information during her briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.

“160,000 square kilometers of Ukraine’s territory must be inspected for explosive items. A national mine action agency has been established in Ukraine. It is already coordinating and communicating among all state authorities and international partners. Currently, our country is one of the most mine-contaminated countries worldwide. Ukraine counts on the further assistance by the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining,” she said.

The Ministry of Defense has already had a meeting with its representatives and informed them about the assistance Ukraine needs.
