Ukraine’s national average wage index returning to pre-war levels

Wages recovery in Ukraine is becoming gradually stronger. Nominal wage in Ukraine gains by up to 20 percent, with the average income of Ukrainians today being about UAH 17,700 per month. Olena Korobkova, Chair of the Board of the Independent Association of the Banks of Ukraine, made this statement at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.

“After the 2022 unprecedented shock hit, Ukraine’s wage development is here to recover gradually. The inflation slowing the pace we are now witnessing contributes to stabilizing welfare. However, the war in Ukraine has destroyed many jobs, and this issue should be addressed comprehensively,” said Olena Korobkova.

In addition, there is an overwhelming problem with a large number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine who cannot find a job. There are special purpose banking programs and government support programs that help, for example, relocate businesses from the сcountry’s east to west to address this issue. Olena Korobkova, Chair of the Board of the Independent Association of the Banks of Ukraine, informed this during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
