Ukraine projects 77 million tons in grain and oilseed harvest amid challenging conditions
Ukraine is forecasted to harvest 77 million tons of grains and oilseeds this year, a decrease from last season’s yield of approximately 82 million tons.
This announcement was made by Denys Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the Ukrainian Agrarian Council, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“We are currently estimating a harvest of up to 77 million tons of grains and oilseeds. While this is slightly lower than last season’s production of about 82 million tons, it remains a strong result given the current circumstances,” Marchuk stated.
Marchuk further highlighted that the expected harvest would enable Ukraine to maintain a significant export capacity, predicting around 60 million tons for export.
“Considering we have exported 57.5 million tons of oilseeds this season, I anticipate similar figures for the new harvest in foreign markets. Our domestic consumption is only 15-16 million tons, so with a projected harvest of around 77 million tons, approximately 60 million tons will be available for export,” added Denys Marchuk.
