Ukraine prepared to provide education for children in Kursk region if necessary – Deputy Minister

If the situation in Kursk region continues to develop at the current pace now, at the end of next month a plan will be drawn up to ensure education for minors in that territory. However, this will in no way involve their relocation to the territory of Ukraine.

Mykhailo Vynnytskyi, Deputy Minister of Education and Sciences of Ukraine, made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine.

“International humanitarian law prohibits the movement of minors across borders during occupation or military operations. We strongly condemn our enemy for relocating the children of Ukrainian citizens to the russian federation, as we consider this a fundamental violation of human rights. Therefore, there will definitely be no relocating children from Kursk region to Ukraine. If the current situation continues, we expect that by the end of September or early October, we will need to develop a plan for providing education to minors in those territories,” he said.
