Ukraine Must Respond More Firmly to Attacks Based on Sexual Orientation or Gender Identity – Anna Sharygina

On its path to European integration, Ukraine must prevent crimes based on sexual orientation or gender identity. 

This was stated by Anna Sharygina, co-founder of the Kharkiv women’s association “Sfera” and “PrideHub,” during a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center. 

“This concerns assaults, property damage, and vandalism committed on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. In democratic countries, such crimes are treated with particular attention because they affect society as a whole,” she said.
