U.S. Elections: Olexander Khara Told What Can Change for Ukraine
Support for Ukraine will not significantly change as a result of the U.S. elections, but the parameters of assistance for the country may change. Olexander Khara, Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Expert at Centre for Defence Strategies, Diplomat, Advisor to the Defense Minister of Ukraine (2020), made this report during the briefing in Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“Saying in three theses about what has happened, these elections are a good deed for the Americans, the world and Ukraine. The second is that this is a good trend that is introduced. And the third is that there will be no significant changes in relation to Ukraine. This Administration will hold power for another two years, and, therefore, it has no intention of changing its policy towards Ukraine and the russian federation. The only thing that can change is the parameters of the assistance and the role of Congress, if we know that the House of Representatives will definitely be controlled by Republicans. Regarding the Senate, we may see literally in a few days whether this division will take place, and perhaps only in December it will be clear who will control the Senate,” Olexander Khara explained.
