Two-thirds of the population in russia on the brink of poverty, study finds

Two-thirds of russia’s population now teeters on the brink of poverty, according to recent research presented at the Media Center Ukraine by political scientist Vadym Denysenko.

“Discussing the 63% of russia’s population [ed.] who are apprehensive about rising prices essentially reveals the segment that is de facto the poorest. In the russian federation today, two-thirds of the populace falls entirely below the poverty threshold,” Denysenko asserted. He continued, “This aligns with our previous surveys, where we inquired whether individuals had any financial reserves and for how many months. A striking 64% reported having less than one month’s worth of savings. Essentially, this indicates that two-thirds of the population is on the verge of poverty.”

It is worth noting that this survey was conducted via telephone in russia, encompassing 1,200 respondents.
