Those citizens whose housing was destroyed or damaged in the temporarily occupied territories will be able to receive compensation and choose their place of residence — Shuliak
Despite the lack of direct access to the temporarily occupied territories, the state will provide means to determine the fact of housing destruction or damage to compensate its owner. Olena Shuliak, Chair of Sluha Narodu (Servant of the People) Party, Chair of the Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on State Building, Local Governance, Regional, and Urban Development made this statement during a briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“People will be able to receive compensation for damaged or destroyed property in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. We had a meeting and worked with the mayor of Mariupol, and we talked with the head of the military administration of Donetsk Oblast, which also deals with the temporary occupation. The government will develop an appropriate procedure to establish the way various means can be used. These are modern aerial photography equipment to confirm that certain housing is destroyed. So its owners will be able to receive compensation and freely choose a settlement, no matter where the destroyed housing initially was,” said Shuliak.
