This year, monument to victims of Crimean Tatar deportation to be unveiled in Ukraine
This year, a monument to the victims of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people is expected to be unveiled in the first half of this year.
Tamila Tasheva, Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, made this statement during a discussion at Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“A monument to the victims of the deportation of the Crimean Tatar people will be unveiled this year. For now, I will not announce the location or the date, but in fact the monument will be unveiled in the first half of the year. And this is very important for the Crimean Tatars – to have a place where one can lay flowers, reflect and remember their relatives who suffered through this atrocity. (This place – Ed.) makes it possible, and the Crimean Tatars in Kyiv and beyond can do these things. Representatives of various ethnic communities living in Ukraine, who understand the crime committed against the Crimean Tatars, are also welcome to join in,” said Tamila Tasheva.
