The vast majority of major French media outlets are covering the situation in Ukraine objectively – a study
The international information and analytical community Resurgam conducted a study, based on content analysis, on the quality of coverage of the Russia-Ukraine war in the French media. The Resurgam team analyzed eight leading French media outlets: Le Figaro, Le Monde, Le Point, L’Express, Le Nouvel Obs, Libération, La Provence, and Le Journal du Dimanche. Dmytro Korniienko, founder of the information and analytical community Resurgam and a political scientist, spoke about this at the Ukraine Media Center.
“In total, we analyzed 3,893 articles; only 99 articles fell into the ‘red zone’ and can be considered manipulative. The publications we analyzed, for the most part, analyze and present information about the situation in Ukraine very accurately,” he noted.
According to the analyst, in some cases, news reports in the French media are based on reports from Russian news aggregators or official Russian sources, and sometimes they actually reproduce them verbatim.
