The theater season at the Odesa opera and ballet theater will end with the premiere of the ballet for children “Thumbelina”

Next season, the theater will continue the projects launched in 2022. Lyudmyla Serhiichuk, assistant general director and artistic director of the Odesa national academic opera and ballet theater, said this at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

“At the end of the season, on June 17-18-25, we will have a premiere of the children’s ballet “Thumbelina”. This is an author’s project of our theatre – modern, spectacular, with beautiful music. And the season itself will end on July 11, with a whole week of classical opera, classical ballet, and all the premieres we’ve made this year,” – she said.

She also said that next season the opera house will continue two projects that have already been launched. This is the New Music of Ukraine project, in which the theatre gives young Ukrainian composers the opportunity to express themselves, presents an orchestra, choir, and stage, and soloists perform works by artists. And also the project “The Journey of a Little Musician,” in which young viewers got acquainted with music, theatre, ballet, orchestra, and life behind the scenes.
