The State Emergency Service has fined over 1,400 people for burning dry vegetation nearly 3 million hryvnias – Viktor Vitovetskyi
The State Emergency Service continues to fine people who burn grass and leaves. But the amount of the fines cannot cover the damage caused. Viktor Vitovetsky, director of the Department of Civil Protection and Preventive Activities at the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, spoke about this at the Ukraine Media Center.
“As of today, we have imposed fines on 1,600 people and collected funds from 1,400 violators. In monetary terms, this amounts to 3.5 million and 2.9 million, respectively,” the SES expert emphasized.
The State Emergency Service emphasized that burning dry grass and leaves in Ukraine is subject to administrative liability: fines for citizens range from 3,060 to 6,120 UAH. For officials, the fines are higher—up to 30,600 UAH. In nature reserve areas, fines reach 12,240 UAH.
