The russian federation has illegally detained at least 17 civilian women from Crimea, Kherson and Zaporizhia oblasts

In the temporarily occupied Crimea, human rights activists have recorded three cases against women in Sevastopol in August and September of 2024 alone. Currently, at least 17 civilian women from Crimea, Kherson and Zaporizhia oblasts are known to be unlawfully detained by russia.

This was reported by Olha Skrypnyk, chairwoman of the Crimean Human Rights Group, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.

“As of today, we have identified at least 17 civilian women who are currently being detained by the russian federation. These women are either from Crimea, or from Kherson or Zaporizhia oblasts. They are all civilians. Some of them are in a very vulnerable state, meaning they need medical assistance, and some are suffering from serious illnesses, including cancer,” she said.
