The Number of Fires in Ukraine Increased During the Month: by 18.7% Due to Violations of the Rules of Operation of Heat Generating Units, by 4.3% Due to Electrical Installations — the State Emergency Service
Due to violations of fire safety rules during the use of electrical installations and heat generating devices, the number of fires in Ukraine has increased. Oleksandr Khorunzhyy, Press Officer of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, made this statement during the briefing at the Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“The number of fires due to violations of fire safety rules during installation and operation of heat generating units and installations increased by 18.7%. And violation of fire safety rules during operation of electrical installations: this is a short circuit, and the use of extension cords, and switching on many large-rating appliances at once after turning on the electricity, which leads to fires. The number increased by 4.3% compared to the previous month. The situation with fires is tense, but the State Emergency Service units are in place. More than 7,000 people and more than 2,000 machinery pieces are currently on duty in Ukraine. We respond, but insist on observance of safety rules,” Oleksandr Khorunzhyy said.
