The Ministry of Defense States about the Escalation on the Frontline
The situation on the frontline of the russo-Ukrainian war remains tense, and there are indications of its further escalation. The russian invaders shell the entire frontline intensively and try to hit the deep defensive positions of the Ukrainian forces, for instance, in Donetsk Operational Area and along the Slovyansk axis.
Oleksandr Motuzianyk, the spokesperson of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, disclosed this information during his briefing at Media Center Ukraine — Ukrinform.
“The foe concentrates on keeping the captured lines, reconnoiters, fortifies its positions, tops up the stock of weapons, military equipment, and ammunition, and tries to improve its tactical position,” he said.
Oleksandr Motuzianyk also indicated that the invaders are determining new areas for launching missiles on the territory of Ukraine. russian crews of Tupolev-22M3 long-range bombers engage in simulation missile launches from the airspace of the northern part of the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
“In the meantime, the Ukrainian forces pursue their defensive mission, inflicting perceptible losses of manpower and equipment on the enemy. For instance, in Donetsk and Luhansk areas, our fighters repelled fourteen enemy attacks, burned eight tanks and fourteen armored combat vehicles, and six trucks of russian invaders over the last day,” the spokesperson of the Ministry of Defense emphasized.
