The Media Initiative for Human Rights has created an interactive map with places where russia has held or is still holding civilian hostages and prisoners of war

Representatives of the Media Initiative for Human Rights met with MEPs at the Ukraine Media Center in Lviv to draw the world’s attention to russia’s crimes and discuss cooperation to bring deported Ukrainians home.

Members of the Media Initiative for Human Rights presented their work in investigating russia’s war crimes. The main message was to get help from EU member states to return deported Ukrainian children to their homes and to punish those involved in the crimes.

The Media Initiative for Human Rights has created an interactive map with places where russia has held or is still holding civilian hostages and prisoners of war.

In early April 2023, the Media Initiative for Human Rights identified 948 civilian hostages held in russia and the occupied territories of Ukraine. But their number could be 5-7 times higher.
