The ePPO app (electronic air defense forces app) will now notify users if there is an air threat near them

Previously, this option was available only to the military. Hennadiy Suldin, founder of the Technari design group, developer of the electronic air defense application, told this at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Odesa.

He reminded that the ePPO app works by means of user reports, which inform about air targets seen or heard in the sky. And A.I. builds a probable route and informs air defense calculations where the air target will be in 10 minutes.

“About 10-20% of citizens will be injured by the fragments of downed missiles or drones and broken glass. This is because many people ignore air raid alarms. And now ordinary users will be able to see that an air target is nearby. And they will receive a warning that russian flying sh**t will be near you in a few minutes. So get away from the windows, or better take cover,” – Suldin said.

According to the developer, the updated functionality of the application is already available for Android users, and in a week it will work on iOS.

He added that 343 thousand Ukrainians are currently using the app, and to increase its effectiveness, 390-402 thousand Ukrainians need to install the air defense systems.

“I ask everyone to motivate their relatives and friends to install the app. During the last massive missile attack, we received 530 alerts, and to increase efficiency, there should be 620–640 alerts. It is especially important that people in rural areas have this app installed. As our anti-aircraft gunners say, one signal from the village is worth 10 from the city,” – the app developer added.
