The enemy shells Ukraine’s South, trying to maintain the intensity of artillery fire at 100 – Natalia Humeniuk
The occupiers are trying to inflict maximum damage on the civilians by shelling residential areas, and social and energy infrastructure.
Colonel Natalia Humeniuk, Head of the United Coordinating Press Center of Security and Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine made this report, at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine – Ukrinform.
“The enemy is trying to maintain the intensity of artillery shelling, firing off as many as 100 shells daily. A few days ago they reached this mark and slightly surpassed it, when the artillery fire, including targeting the regional center of Kherson region, reached more than 10 per day. They are heavily hitting residential areas and social infrastructure, and they are already trying to damage the energy infrastructure. It is obvious that they are seeking to wreak the maximum devastating toll on civilians,” she said.
Against this background, according to Natalia Humeniuk, the occupiers in their propaganda activities emphasize their possible return to Kherson city, and have launched a powerful campaign in this regard.
“But I want to reassure everyone—these are all vain hopes of the occupiers. The Kherson region’s residents are very much aware of it, including the geographical part of the issue—the right bank is of much higher landforms, and the enemy has absolutely no logistical connection with it. What they (the occupiers – ed.) are trying to pass off as the maneuvering of their sabotage and reconnaissance groups is happening only between the islands, they are not even trying to onslaught on the right bank, and they do not reach it, of course, because the Dnipro River itself is coming under repeating attacks,” added Natalia Humeniuk.
