The Association of Ukrainian Cities Calls for the Settlement of Arrears on Tariff Differential Compensation for District Heating Companies

As of the end of April, courts had frozen the accounts of 69 district heating companies due to debts for gas consumption, making it impossible to prepare for the heating season.

Oleksandr Slobozhan, Executive Director of the Association of Ukrainian Cities, stated this during a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center. 

“It is necessary to establish a rule that, during martial law, the accounts of critical infrastructure cannot be frozen, and to unfreeze the accounts immediately. In addition, the debt for compensation of tariff differences must be settled—in the form of mutual settlements between participants in the debt chain,” said Oleksandr Slobodian.
