Survey shows 85 percent of Ukrainians favor domestic goods
As Ukraine prepares to roll out its National Cashback program on September 2, 2024, a recent survey by Gradus Research reveals strong support for domestically produced goods among the Ukrainian population. The survey sought to gauge public sentiment towards the state-backed cashback initiative, which is designed to encourage the purchase of Ukrainian products.
The program will allow consumers to open a special bank account and receive a virtual card that offers a 10 percent cashback on purchases of Ukrainian-made goods. According to Yevheniia Blyzniuk, a sociologist and the founder and director of Gradus Research, the majority of Ukrainians surveyed are eager to participate in the program and are inclined to choose Ukrainian products over foreign alternatives.
The survey results indicate that 85 percent of respondents have a favorable view of Ukrainian-made products, with 49 percent already prioritizing Ukrainian products in their shopping. Additionally, a significant portion of Ukrainians expressed a balanced approach, indicating a preference for both Ukrainian and foreign goods. These findings were shared by Blyzniuk during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
