Supporting Ukraine is Sweden’s top foreign policy priority for the coming years – Tobias Billström, Swedish Foreign Minister
The actions of russia pose a threat not only to Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty, but also violate collective security. The russian aggression is deteriorating the situation in the entire Black Sea region. The russian attacks against Ukrainian ports and ships impact the economy, threaten freedom of navigation and destabilize the situation on the global food markets.
Tobias Billström, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, made this statement during the Second Black Sea Security Conference.
“While challenges remain, the Black Sea is an example of what Ukraine can achieve with support from its allies. Sweden is proud to have contributed nearly USD 60 million to the World Food Program to further facilitate exports, including through the Grain from Ukraine initiative,” he said.
The Swedish Foreign Minister emphasized that to sustain these successes, the global community’s support must continue. ” Supporting Ukraine is Sweden’s top foreign policy priority for the coming years. Sweden will continue to support Ukraine to win the war and reestablish its territorial integrity,” he said.
To sum up, Tobias Billström added in Ukrainian language that “Crimea is Ukraine.”
