Successful Ukrainian naval drone campaign among key reasons driving russian ships into retreat, – Dmytro Pletenchuk
The effective deployment of maritime drones by Ukrainian forces against enemy vessels has compelled the russian fleet to seek cover at their base.
This information was shared by Dmytro Pletenchuk, Spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, during a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
“These naval drones have a direct impact, and we have all seen the results. This includes the so-called Crimean Bridge, a dozen sunken ships, remote mining operations, and damaged vessels. Notably, many of the ships still in service have already undergone repairs after sustaining damage. Two frigates, Admiral Makarov and Admiral Essen, are no exception. Thus, the impact is significant, and this is one of the reasons they now have to hide in their home base. If they cannot approach our shores, primarily due to the coastal missile and artillery forces of the Navy, then on the distant frontiers—the central and eastern parts of the Black Sea, the Kerch Strait—this is the work of drones and other components of the Defense Forces,” Pletenchuk stated.
